Measuring the claim in food supplements.

The ingredient claim on the label and consistency between batches are the first things consumers and inspectors ask about.

The current picture

Deeptrace in food supplements.

With food supplements, consumers see the label, not the effect. Whether the active ingredient is as declared is questioned especially in contract manufacturing and online channels. Reference-based measurement answers that question from the product itself.

Regulation on the Import, Production, Processing and Placing on the Market of Food Supplements

Published in the Official Gazette on 2 May 2013, the regulation governs product approval, the limiting of sales to the business's own sales points, declared domain names and URLs and contracted direct sellers, and the establishment of traceability at every stage from raw material supply to placing on the market. The business must be able to identify the source a product was obtained from and the places it was sold.

List of approved food supplements

Food supplements approved by the Ministry, together with the businesses that produce, process and import them, are published by the Ministry; the list can be queried by company name, approval number or product name. Being able to match the approval number to the product is the first step in checking a product's legal status.

FAQ

Questions about food supplements

Can measurement be done at a contract manufacturer?

Yes. Because the reference belongs to your product, it is assessed by the same measure wherever it is made.

Can a product sold online be assessed?

Yes. A product obtained from a marketplace can be compared with the same reference.

Will our formula be revealed?

No. Measurement does not record the recipe; it compares the product's measurable properties with the reference.
